Carbon Offset Policy

Tree Planting Initiative at Cuc Phuong National Park

At Viet Cone Travel, we take responsibility for the environmental impact of our tours. The carbon offset contribution is calculated per guest and is integrated into our operational practices as part of our broader sustainability approach.

This policy outlines how we offset part of the carbon footprint generated by our tour operations by supporting tree-planting activities at Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam's first and largest national park.

Scope

This policy covers emissions generated from transportation, accommodation, and activities included in our tours, as well as part of our office operations. The carbon offset contribution is calculated per guest and is integrated into our operational practices as part of our broader sustainability approach.

Our Commitment

For each guest joining our tours, 1 USD is allocated to tree-planting activities at Cuc Phuong National Park, in cooperation with the Management Board. Viet Cone Travel ensures that contributions are directed toward initiatives that align with environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and long-term sustainability objectives.

Through this initiative, our primary objective is to:

  • Contribute directly to carbon offset efforts by supporting tree planting and reforestation activities that enhance natural carbon absorption capacity

In addition, we aim to:

  • Support biodiversity conservation and habitat restoration

  • Contribute to the recovery of degraded forest areas

  • Promote climate awareness and responsible travel practices among our guests

Implementation

Viet Cone Travel calculates the total number of trees based on guest contributions and coordinates with the Management Board of Cuc Phuong National Park to conduct planting activities at the end of each month.

We primarily plant native hardwood species indigenous to help restore forest areas that were previously cleared for livelihood purposes.

Transparency & Communication

Viet Cone Travel will publish an annual summary outlining the number of trees supported through our contributions, the project locations, and information provided by our planting partners.

Through your journey with us, our clients directly help regenerate forests, support local livelihoods, and build a greener future.

Carbon Offset Policy

Tree Planting Project in Ha Giang

Viet Cone Travel is proud to announce our support for a tree planting project in Ha Giang through a contribution of 5,000 cinnamon trees, in partnership with the social enterprise Education for Ha Giang, an organization dedicated to community development and education in Ha Giang.

This initiative is designed with two key objectives:

  • Supporting sustainable livelihoods for local communities

  • Contributing to carbon offset efforts through long-term tree cultivation.

Why Cinnamon Trees?

With favorable climate and soil conditions in Ha Giang, cinnamon trees thrive and provide long-term economic value for local communities. Their cultivation supports sustainable income generation and contributes to poverty reduction.

Beyond their economic benefits, cinnamon trees play an important environmental role. They help prevent soil erosion, protect downstream water sources, enhance forest coverage, and absorb COâ‚‚, thereby contributing to climate resilience and ecosystem restoration.

For these reasons, cinnamon cultivation represents a meaningful approach to both sustainable development and environmental protection.

Our Commitment

Therefore, with 5,000 cinnamon trees, Viet Cone Travel aims to support sustainable livelihoods for local communities by promoting long-term income generation through cinnamon cultivation, while also contributing to carbon offset efforts by enhancing green coverage and supporting environmental restoration.

We sincerely thank our partners and travelers for being part of this shared commitment toward responsible and sustainable tourism.
